Farewell, Best Friend

1996-2013
15 years ago, I was blessed to have met this little lad-- I called him Chico. The subsequent years he filled my life with joy and meaning.
Yesterday morning he passed on while my mother was at his side during his last moments.
Life is that much more dreary knowing that another little soul as gentle and unjudging as him is gone.
Bless his little heart for the many years of love he's given me-- I only wish I was there to say good bye, as well.

  1. I'm sorry :(! This is so sad. I've never had a pet of my own but I guess it must be hard to lose a friend and to not be able to say goodbye to it. By the way, he had the most adorable little snout!

    1. Devoting so much love to a little critter can be so rewarding, and equally painful-- when they pass it feels as though part of your heart is being ripped from your chest.

    1. Thank you-- yes, my home with my mother is a little empty with him gone. He was part of the family, after all.

  4. Oh, little Chico, rest in peace. I'm sorry you lost someone who gave you unconditional furry love. It's hard to accept that their lives are so much shorter than ours, but I'm sure his was a happy one.
    Take care.
